By Gachris
I really like this type of heat diffuser. I have used my other one for a number of years and decided to get several for family members as a small holiday gift, and then ordered an extra one for myself, since on occasion I could use 2. Also, my other one is looking a bit dark and rusty, so this will also serve as a replacement eventually and it was a great price. I lightly oil mine from time to time and I dry it by heating it to avoid rusting too quickly. The handle comes off and is convenient if the pot is too large or if I have the burner a bit hotter than the low setting. It really makes cooking chili or stock or other slow cook items a breeze - no pot watching!, and it is also good when warming drier foods. A great bargain!! Also I have not found this items in the stores!!

By J. Garciagodoy
The good news is: this product keeps food from sticking to flimsy pots. The bad news is: I couldn't get the sticker off the bottom of it, so it burned and smelled bad. More annoying: the metal of the simmer plate itself seems to flake and burn, leaving charred bits on the stove.

By C. Yokom
This doesn't work well if you're cooking something in a large stock pot. The handle attachment doesn't allow the pot to sit properly centered on the simmer plate.
